This course applies to those who are required to perform slewing mobile crane operations (up to 60 tonnes) as part of their role.

 

DEFINITION – NSW SafeWork
A slewing mobile crane means a mobile crane incorporating a boom jib that is capable of being slewed. This excludes front end loader, backhoe, excavator and other earthmoving equipment when configured for crane operation.

 

A person performing this work is required to hold a slewing mobile crane with an MRC up to 60 tonnes HRWL.

 

This unit requires a person operating a slewing mobile crane with an MRC up to 60 tonnes to:

  • plan for the work/task
  • prepare for the work/task
  • perform work/task
  • pack up
Classroom and practical activities.
Nil pre-requisites required but it is recommended that you have completed your High Risk Work License for Dogging (DG).
 
Minimum 18 years of age, physically fit, ability to speak, read & write English.
 
Please note: This course may require participants to operate heavy equipment for the practical components of Training & Assessments. To ensure a high level of safety during the course, participants may be subjected to random Drug & Alcohol testing. Your acceptance of this is confirmed upon registering as a participant of this course.

  • Please bring enclosed footwear, high vis shirt (vest available), 100 points of ID, hard hat (if owned), weather suitable clothing and Lunch.

From 1st January 2015 each student that will be commencing nationally recognised training in Australia is required to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI) to be able to obtain their certificate or qualification from their registered training organisation.
